Mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 2, when the 2013 Louisiana Book Festival comes to town!

The Louisiana Center for the Book in the State Library of Louisiana is proud to present this free world-class literary celebration. Come join the fun downtown at the State Library of Louisiana, the State Capitol, the Capitol Park Museum and nearby locations.

Our national award winning event has something for every book lover, whether young or old, just can't get enough of poetry or loves to cook up a batch of great Louisiana dishes.

One of the best features of the book festival is getting your chance to meet exceptional writers while enjoying book-related activities and presentations.

Teen event program

Teen HQThis year the Louisiana Book Festival is launching Teen HQ, a space with activities and crafts just for teens! Also check out the Louisiana Teen Readers' Choice Award and YA authors who will be attending the festival. Read more

It's the year of music and the LBF is in full swing

MusicAs part of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism's celebration of the Year of Louisiana Music, the Louisiana Book Festival will feature several music-related programs. From a songwriting workshop with Mary Gauthier to books about music, we have it all!


William Joyce returns with two new books

William JoyceWilliam Joyce has confirmed he will attend the Louisiana Book Festival to discuss two of his new books, The Mischievians and The Sandman and the War of Dreams.

Volunteer

Book-loving volunteers are essential to the Louisiana Book Festival's success. Whether it's escorting authors, guiding visitors, selling refreshments, working with children in the Young Readers Pavilion or other fun and rewarding assignments, the Louisiana Book Festival wants you to join the volunteer team.
