Presented by John Biguenet, half-day 9 AM – NOONRegister for the 2011 WordShopsIt's not enough for a writer to figure out what to say; the artistic struggle centers on how to say it. The choice of whether to cast a piece of literature as a poem or an essay or a short story or a novel or a play or a film serves as the foundation for all the other decisions a writer will make. Function Follows Form will examine the differences among the various genres and demonstrate the profound effect of the chosen form on the finished product. John Biguenet, having published widely praised examples of all these genres, will lead a workshop that looks at the possibilities each form offers a writer. |
