Thomas Parrie was born in Monroe, Louisiana, and has lived in Natchitoches parish for most of his life. He is a former student of Louisiana Poet Laureate Julie Kane and has recently received an M.A. in English from Northwestern State University. He writes on topics such as Native American identity in central Louisiana and southern heritage. Recently, Parrie has moved to Nashville, TN, where he plans to pursue an M.F.A in poetry.
