While in graduate school, Justin became enamored of all things New Orleans, an obsession that culminated in his first book, New Orleans after the Civil War. He is currently working on a book about Sicilian New Orleans, a project that allows him to eat under the guise of research. He teaches history at Loyola University and lives nearby with his wife, Jessica, where they serve the needs of their two critters.
