M. B. Hackler is Director of Partnerships and Programming for REAL School Gardens, an educational organization based in Fort Worth, Texas. He is the editor of two collections of essays: On and Off the Page: Mapping Place in Text and Culture and Culture after the Hurricanes. He is former Board of Regents Fellow in Folklore at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is currently completing a dissertation titled “A Place Apart: British Travelers in the Antebellum South.”
