Nancy Duplechain hails from Ville Platte, La. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she studied creative writing and literature. She moved to Los Angeles in 2008. One year later, she returned to Louisiana for a visit. While taking a swamp tour, the mystery and beauty of the area became an inspiration. She returned to Hollywood and began writing
Dark Bayou, which was to become her first novel.
